Welcome to miracleofmercy! Basically, some musings and observations of everyday life, and loads of Doctor-Who talk. LOADS. Honest. British-y things, especially British telly, thrill me, to say the least. This journal is mostly friends-only, but if you think we have something in common or would like to be friends, drop a comment! :)

That was basically my reaction this morning. Listening to the live radio commentary was almost too much too bear. On Championship Point, my heart was racing a million miles a minute (probably less, I exaggerate). BUT THE MOMENT HE WON...WOWZERS.Andy Murray, US Open champion. A GRAND SLAM CHAMPION. It's been a long time coming, Andy. And what a perfect ending to Britain's golden summer.

Now go and get a haircut, Andy. :p

After the disappointment of Lee Chong Wei losing to Lin Dan in the badminton finals last night (epic match, sooooooooooooooo close!), I really really really really really really wanted Andy to win the tennis final. AND HE DID. LOOK AT THAT HAPPINESS.

And to do it at Wimbledon, so emphatically against whom many dub the 'Greatest of All Time', Roger Federer. Brilliant, just brilliant.

And another *almost* gold in the mixed, a very tight ending, finishing with the silver with the ever lovely Laura Robson.

And J.K. Rowling

And a giant inflatable Voldemort

And Mary Poppinses

And trampoline hospital beds

And the TARDIS Vworp-Vworped in the middle

And a Macca sing-along

Congratulations, Danny Boyle. You've become my new favourite person.

And congratulations, Britain. The whole Opening Ceremony was spectacular. Surreal and bonkers and irreverent and AHHHHHHHHH SO GOOD!!!!!

You know what (or rather, Who) would have made it even better, though? David Tennant. *cackles*

It's official. For the first time in my life, I hate Roger Federer. I hate his fairy feet that flies across the grass, I hate his graceful strokes, I hate his glossy brown locks under that Nike head band. I hate his smirky little winner's speech and that awful cardy he likes to wear.

Poor Muzza. So valiant. A nation wept with him during his runner's up speech. (The non-snarky ones, at any rate.)

I'll go back to liking Federer again in a few weeks. Maybe.

Oh and Matty was there in the stands watching the final. I bet the locals here who were watching were confused when the British-based commentators quipped quite mysteriously when Matt's face was shown, 'that's Doctor Who!'.

It's the Queen's Diamond Jubilee weekend, so I hope all of you being good little fans of Doctor Who are rewatching The Idiot's Lantern for the cheeky banter and massive Doctor pompadour. Tea and cakes all around, please. :D

Cross at sunset
"Today the Carpenter's hands are nailed to a cross,
the King of kings is crowned with thorns
and wears the purple robe of mockery.
Today he sets us free, Himself imprisoned on a tree.
Today is God's Friday."

Have a blessed Good Friday.

Title: The Seven Valentines of Amelia Pond (part 2)
Author: miracleofmercy
Characters: Amy and Rory (plus bonus!Eleven), plus some original characters!
Rating: G
Disclaimer: Doctor Who belongs to the BBC while Harry Potter belongs to JK Rowling. I have no claims over their genius.
Summary: Amy has a secret admirer.
Author's notes: 2219 words. Written for Challenge 05 at she_is_to_me. This is an AU challenge, so I've set mine in the HP universe based on one of the picture prompts. Did not use any of the regular HP characters though, except for a passing mention of a certain barmaid, and the timeline could be any time point basically. I need to apologize for the last-minuteness of this fic. I only started writing on Friday, and I thought I had till Sunday before I realized that the deadline is Saturday, so this is a bit cobbled together. If it's kinda rubbish, then I blame it on time. Too shallow, too saccharine, too mushy, too un-Amy and un-Rory like? Dare I say, too much fluff?! I apologize profusely as well. :p Here we go then.

Read part 1 HERE.

She sat there alone at the Gryffindor breakfast table, gently handling the rose, caressing each soft petal. A part of her wanted to know who sent it, while another part wanted to maintain the romantic mystery.Collapse )
